Using strategies such as guided reading, use of multi-modal texts, whole school reading projects and development of an engaging reading curriculum, I can support your school to improve the overall quality of pupils’ reading skills, increase the range of texts and authors pupils are familiar with and improve pupils’ attitudes to, and enjoyment of, reading. This support package can include resources, professional development meetings and in-class support and focus on all aspects of reading. Support with planning will also be offered and the consultant will deliver model sessions, if required, to illustrate the different aspects of effective teaching. Guided reading can also be explored as an effective tool for focused intervention.
